New steel band workshops for 8-16 year olds at the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre.
Children and young people are invited to learn to play steel pan with Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra - RASPO.
Children's Steel Band classes launch in May during Reading Children's Festival with 2 taster workshops on 24 & 31 May 2022. The taster workshops offer a chance for children to have a go at playing different styles of music on steel pan instruments. The remainder of the course will focus on developing playing techniques and learning to play a song together as a steel band.
The first two classes are free of charge, £5 per child after that.
Our friendly tutors ensure the children have lots of fun playing music together. All instruments and equipment provided. Children's workshops are ideal for complete beginners and those who have played before.
Booking in advance is advised as spaces are limited.
