Join us on Sunday, 4th January 2026 for the Grand Slam when the winning poets from Dreading Slam 2025 compete against each other to win the title of the Dreading Slam Champion for the year. The show will commence at 7.30pm with doors opening 15 minutes before. It promises to be a lively, fun evening’s entertainment. And it’s Free to come along….
The poets taking part are those who have qualified through the monthly Open Mic heats that are held on the first Sunday of every month. 2025 has seen some incredibly talented Slam Poets win through to the Final making for a hotly contested event and gives you, the audience, the unique opportunity to hear the very best of Berkshire Poetry. (Please note that this contest is not Open Mic our open mic returns on Sun Feb 1st).
There will be some Open Mic with our ever popular Quick Fire Contest. Judged by the loudest cheer, the theme for this event is “end”. To take part, just bring poems (up to a maximum of five lines long) and join the fast-moving queue.
