‘Traitor at The Beeches’ is a comedy drama that follows a group of mature, eccentric Second World War veterans on the hunt for the traitor within their midst.
The play is set in Beeches Manor residential home in the year 2001, and once again the residents find their comfortable, routine-driven life under threat. Pearl, a glamorous new resident from Los Angeles, sweeps in, leaving residents and staff in shock and awe. At the same time as the bombshell of Pearl’s invasion, shattering news arrives of wartime treachery that threatens the residents’ deep-rooted bonds.
Belligerent Colonel, wheeler dealer Walker, mystical Cassandra and no-nonsense Iris need to utilise their long-held skills to unravel the mystery of the traitor’s identity as well as to deal with two new, troublesome housekeepers.
‘Traitor at the Beeches’ is Twyford Drama’s follow-up to Kathy Reid’s successful Spring 2023 production ‘Fight Them for The Beeches’ and promises even more twists, turns and surprising outcomes. This is the third production that Kathy has written and directed for Twyford Drama.

The cast and crew of Twyford Drama’s forthcoming "Traitor at The Beeches' are currently at the fun part of pre-production, as they skilfully piece together all the different elements to create a successful show.
On stage, our talented, devoted actors have already learned their lines and "put books down" in rehearsals. They can now focus on building the eccentric jumble of characters who live in Beeches Manor Residential Home, from no-nonsense Iris to bustling housekeepers Flora and Dora.
Cast members have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of finding the right "look" for their individual characters. The group has a small wardrobe but most often the success of costumes is down to the inventiveness of the performers … and they have done a great job.
The backstage members of the team are applying the finishing touches to their creative work with set building nearly complete, three bespoke paintings already framed, and ingenious secret hiding places created for wheeler dealer Walker to hide his "treasure".
It is almost time for an audience to join us in the hunt for a traitor. The cast and crew of "Traitor at the Beeches' are working hard to make this production as entertaining, comic and as twisty-turny as possible and we hope our audiences will love the show as much as we have loved putting it together.
