A free online event exploring what helps autistic young people thrive at school and in everyday life.
Who is this event for? This event is open to everyone - autistic children and young people, their parents and carers, teachers and school staff, healthcare professionals, and researchers. No prior knowledge is needed; all are welcome.
About the event As part of the University of Reading's centenary celebrations, the Centre for Autism Wellbeing Hub is hosting a free evening event on the theme of Autistic Thriving at School and Beyond. The evening will bring together speakers, researchers and the community to explore what supports autistic children to flourish in education and everyday life.
The event will include talks from:
- Professor Elizabeth McCrum, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience), University of Reading
- Dr Fiona Knott, Dr Jo Billington and Dr Emma Harris, Wellbeing Hub project leads
- Andy Smith, founder of Spectrum Gaming, and a passionate advocate for young people's voices in education

There will also be two short interactive sessions during the evening, inviting attendees to share their views.
