Close To The Sun

Highly influenced by bands such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson, The Cure and Radiohead, Close To The Sun are a 3-piece psych-experimental rock band from West London, aiming to reinvent psychedelia.

Close To The Sun are Inspired by Greek mythology and in constant research for new frontiers of sounds. Their name takes its roots from the Greek myth of Icarus, with a dual meaning of pushing ourselves beyond boundaries and as a metaphor of broken dreams. Pink Floyd on “The Wall Album” would say “I’ve got a strong urge to fly but I got nowhere to fly to”.

Close To The Sun released their first album “The Trip”, in April 2023, bringing their distinctive sound across and outside London. From 2017 we have been actively performing live in some of the most iconic venues in and outside London, Fiddler’s Elbow, Dublin Castle (Camden Town), St. Moritz Club (Soho), The Water Rats, The Good Mixer (Camden Town), The Hope&Anchor, New Cross Inn (New Cross), Luna – The Home of Live Music (Leytonstone), The Finsbury Pub (Manor House), The Trinity Bar in Harrow-On-The-Hill, The Hobbit Pub in Southampton. Single “What’s Left Behind” has been played on Amazing Radio UK, Amazing Radio Indie and Amazing Radio US and so has the song “Eclipse” on Hospital Radio Crawley, by Ivan Roberts’ radio show. The album also received an endorsement by World-wide famous guitar player and composer Gianfranco Continenza, through his social media pages as a suggestion to listen to it.
