Guest Tutor: Isabel Carmona
Class topic: Collagraph print making
Learn to make your own printing plates using recycled materials and ink them using the intaglio method. This is a versatile printing method using drawing and collage techniques that allows you to develop your own style – be it precise and accurate or abstract and loose.
Collagraph print making:
A collagraph is a printmaking method where an artist builds up a textured plate using materials like cardboard, fabric, or glue, then inks and prints it to create richly layered images. It combines collage and printmaking, producing unique surfaces and tonal effects.
About the Tutor:
I am a painter and printmaker based in Newbury, West Berkshire. An avid sketcher, I take my sketchbook everywhere, it is my happy place, as stopping to look and draw allows stories and anecdotes to develop of which I am reminded of later when developing other paintings or printmaking work. In 2021 IsabeI received a Developing Your Creative Practice Arts Council Grant to develop her multiplate collagraphy , the results of which can be seen in her Instagram @isacarmona-art.
