Jazz in Reading welcomes the Clark Tracey Sextet to the stage of the Progress Theatre. As well as being one of Britain's most accomplished jazz musicians, multi Award-Winning drummer Clark Tracey is a bandleader of extraordinary perception, who never fails to find a mix of youth and experience to bring a special magic and excitement to the music.
His current band is a case in point. Trumpeter Mark Armstrong best known as the Artistic Director of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) will be joined in the front-line by NYJO alumni Daniel Higham on trombone and Tom Ridout on reeds, while the Tracey-powered rhythm section will boast the prodigiously talented 'Phronesis' keyboardist Will Barry and James Owston, like Tom Ridout a recent finalist on the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Competition, on bass.
A stellar line-up, not to be missed!
