Reading Climate Festival 2023

10-21 Jun

The fourth Reading Climate Festival will run from Saturday 10th to Wednesday 21st June 2023, alongside the UK-wide Great Big Green Week and ending on Show Your Stripes Day.

The festival’s aim is to inspire climate action and support Reading to become a Net Zero, climate resilient town by 2030 through events and activities.

The festival is both in-person and online and has a number of events ranging from musical performances, informative talks to quizzes and food growing workshops. Events will take place in venues across the town. There is something for everyone no matter where you find yourself on your climate journey including specially created content for schools and businesses. Where possible online events are recorded so that they can be enjoyed on-demand after the festival. To find out more and to book events go to our website

The centrepiece of this year’s festival will be Gaia, an awe inspiring installation by Luke Jerram which allows visitors to experience planet Earth as viewed from space, accompanied by a soundtrack from BAFTA award winning composer Dan Jones.

More about the organisers…

Reading Climate Festival originated in 2020 as a series of online talks to support the launch of Reading’s Climate Emergency response. It is run on a not-for-profit basis by a team of volunteers on behalf of Reading Climate Change Partnership, the multi-stakeholder voluntary group which is responsible for Reading’s Climate Emergency Strategy. It offers a wealth of information and resources through its website at readingcan.org.uk.
