Effective Altruism x RUBLS x Swing Dance - Charity Ball

The University of Reading Effective Altruism Society, Reading Uni Ballroom & Latin Society, and Reading Uni Swing Dance Society have teamed up for a Charity Ball - and you're all invited!   

There will be live ballroom performances, swing dances and your chance to take to the floor. And best of all: proceeds from tickets go to the Against Malaria foundation! Each £25 ticket is the equivalent of buying 16 bed nets (and includes a glass of prosecco)

About the Effective Altruism Society

Effective altruism is a project that aims to find the best ways to help others, and put them into practice.

It’s both a research field, which aims to identify the world’s most pressing problems and the best solutions to them, and a practical community that aims to use those findings to do good.

About Reading Uni Swing Dance Society

Swing dancing is an umbrella term given to a group of partner dances born out of the swing jazz era in 1920s-1940s America. Our society focuses on Lindy hop, a playful, rhythmic partner dance that will have you swinging around the dance floor. Throughout the year we will also include other flavours of jazz dances, including Charleston and the Shim Sham.

We pride ourselves on creating a fun, relaxed and inclusive atmosphere that anyone can enjoy! We are the cheapest dance society in Reading SU. Our classes are professionally taught every week on a Wednesday evening in Wessex Hall, on campus.
