Uneasy Easy Listening with Mike Cooper and Alan Clayson

Two legends of Reading's music scene return for an evening of Uneasy Easy Listening. Mike Cooper, from longtime residence in Italy and now Spain, and Alan Clayson, from across the Thames in Caversham.

For six decades, Mike Cooper has travelled the world recording and performing a variety of musical styles and genre. Tonight he brings his DNA (Digital Nomad Arts) project to the Rising Sun. Expect Electric Lap Steel Guitar, Voice, Live Sampling and Looping.

“An icon of post everything music Cooper has recently been hailed as one of the masters of Outer Limits Music with his Ambient /Electronic/ Exotica output. Cooper’s output is sublime".

Alan Clayson has never fitted neatly anywhere - and his rare solo recitals defy succinct description. Moreover, in the context of mainstream modern pop, THERE’S STILL TIME, his restless new long-player, has an effect akin to that of a Viking longship docking in a hovercraft terminal, functioning in a sphere where songs collide with monologue, humour curdles into unease - and momentum matters more than polish.
