Flowers Band, from Gloucestershire, is now in its 56th year of outstanding musical excellence. Flowers is the leading band in the West of England and consistently in the top 10 in the world rankings. Flowers have an impressive list of achievements for a band that is still relatively young.

Flowers Band have been the most successful band at the West of England Areas over the past decade, with wins in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2024.

Conducted by Paul Holland, under his baton, Flowers achieved victories at the Grand Shield, French Open, five victories at Butlins Mineworkers Championships, a hat-trick of wins at Yeovil, six Area titles as well as their highest ever results at the National Championships, British Open and Brass in Concert Championships.

2023 brought contesting success at Brass in Concert, achieving 3rd place with the highest points the band has ever achieved, best ‘New Commission/Arrangement’, and Emily Evans winning ‘Best Soloist’. This was followed by a victory at the West of England Championships and the French Open in 2024.

Denis Wick Workshop - 4.15pm

As part of The British Bandsman Concert Series on Saturday 28th September there will be a 30 minute Denis Wick Workshop with Luke Barker, Lauren Chinn and Matt Rowe from Flowers who will be discussing all things mouthpiece and mute related.

This is a free workshop that will take place in the concert hall at approx. 4:15pm after the Hatherleigh Concert.

If you are coming to the Flowers concert then head to the venue for 4pm to be part of this, if you are coming to the Hatherleigh concert then hang on after and the workshop will start once the stage has been cleared.
