Heritage Open Days 2022

This will be an illustrated presentation about Derek Buckler, his Cars and Karts from the 1940s to the 1960s. It will cover the innovations they introduced. The company was based on Caversham Road where a blue plaque was erected on 25 June 22.

The presentation by David Montgomery, Registrar of the Buckler Car Register, will cover the story of Buckler Cars (of Caversham Rd and Crowthorne) from its founding in the late 1940s to today.
Showing images from the past, and today, David will also explain the activities of the Buckler Car Register and Buckler owners today.
This will undoubtedly include their recent successful unveiling of a blue plaque on the building which was the Dawson's music shop on Caversham Road, where the original factory was sited.
Booking is required as space in the Changing Room is limited. Please use our Eventbrite link in the booking details to book your place.
Arrive from 1800, with the talk starting at 1830.

This will be a photographic exhibition of pioneering cars built in Caversham, shown against the backdrop of the former Caversham Court mansion. An opportunity to learn even more about the amazing history of car manufacture locally, dress up and stage your own photo-shoot with a vintage motor car!
