The History of Reading Society are holding their November meeting at the Abbey Baptist Church, Abbey Square, Reading, on Wednesday 18th November at 7.30pm, when our President, Joan Dils, will tell us about 'Street Life in Tudor and Stuart Reading'.
Our president Joan Dils will use diaries, letters, newspaper reports and court records as sources of what real life was like at this time. The very different fortunes of some of the townspeople and visitors can be found in their diaries and letters or newspaper reports and court records about them.
There will also be a book sale at this meeting, so don't forget to bring your money!
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start at Abbey Baptist Church, Abbey Square, Reading, RG1 3BE.
Free entry for members, visitors £2 each.
