FROM ME TO YOU – MEET THE AUTHORS

In conjunction with our glorious production of Calendar Girls we are bringing you an exclusive special event!

When Brian Greenley was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2010, Alison Hitchcock, an acquaintance he’d met on holiday ,offered to write him letters to cheer him up. Over the next three years Alison wrote over 100 letters and provided priceless support to Brian. The pair formed a deep friendship, which continued to thrive even after Brian was declared cancer-free in 2013.

Inspired by their own experience, Brian and Alison established the “From Me To You” charity in 2017. The charity’s mission is to encourage others to provide support and comfort to cancer patients through handwritten letters. By sharing their story and promoting the power of personal connections, Brian and Alison hope to inspire others to reach out to friends, family, or even strangers undergoing cancer treatment.

Their published book, titled “From Me to You,” documents their journey of friendship, featuring Alison’s heartfelt letters and Brian’s personal journal entries.

So why not spend an afternoon at The Mill with Alison and Brian, as they recount their story and perform extracts from their wonderful book on our stage. Then join them afterwards in our Waterwheel Bar where you can purchase their book and have it personally signed!

This event does not include any food in the restaurant but you are encouraged to have lunch or afternoon tea in the Waterwheel Bar after the performance.
